Why does the message "Cannot retrieve repository metadata" come up after the partitioning section, while installing from a custom-built ISO ?
Issue
-
Followed the steps in the article for how to create a customized Golden Image or RHEL ISO with kickstart file.
-
Booted from it and after the partitions were created, the installer halted with the following error message :
Cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml) for repository: anaconda-RedHatEnterpriseLinux-20130101449.i386. Please verify its path and try again.
-
The permissions of the ISO (at the time of creation) are 555, and the files in /repodata are 444.
-
'mkisofs' was used to create the ISO.
mkisofs -A "Custom.iso" -V "RHEL 6.4" -r -J -v -T -b isolinux/isolinux.bin -c isolinux/boot.cat -no-emul-boot -boot-load-size 4 -boot-info-table -o /tmp/custom.iso .
