IBM's Informix 4GL application stop working after glibc upgrade

Issue

On a Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 3 box, updating glibc and glibc-common from 2.3.2-95.33 to 2.3.2-95.37 (or above) lead to a problem in a 4GL application display refresh mechanisms:

The screens are not being refreshed unless you move from a certain screen to the other and then back.

Also, on all screens top left corner there is a clock which displays the current time on HH:MM format. On RHEL3 update 8/9 the clock is stuck on the minute you entered the GUI until exiting the GUI.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3
  • glibc 2.3.2-95.37 or bigger
  • IBM's 4GL version 4GL 7.32.UC2
