Issue

  • 'java' command does not work on RHEL5 servers using SELinux MLS policy.
  • Running 'java -version' command doesn't return anything on terminal. At the same time, /var/log/audit/audit.log shows the following selinux denials :
type=AVC msg=audit(1280823585.819:456): avc:  denied  { sigchld } for  pid=2944 comm="bash"
scontext=root:sysadm_r:sysadm_javaplugin_t:s0-s15:c0.c1023 tcontext=root:sysadm_r:sysadm_t:s0-s15:c0.c1023 tclass=process
