Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • KVM host has 2 bridges br2 and br3 configured in it. While changing the network interface in virtual machine to virtio driver as mentioned below, the VM shows error.

a.  In the host, shutdown the VM.
b.  virsh edit vm_name
c.  Look for the line that says bridge, and add the line:  <model type='virtio'/>

<interface type='bridge'>
      <mac address='54:52:00:6a:0c:5f'/>
      <source bridge='br2'/>
      <model type='virtio'/>

d.  Start the VM

When the VM is started and initializing eth1, it says:

Device eth1 does not seem to be present. Delaying initialization.
