Virt-v2v error: " virtio configured, but no virtio kernel found"

Issue

  • Below error popped up when converting a RHEL 5.2 and older guest using the virt-v2v tools in the RHEL 5 channel:
virtio configured, but no virtio kernel found at /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.8/Sys/VirtV2V/Converter/Linux.pm line 277.
  • Below error popped up when converting a RHEL 4.7 and older guest:
virtio configured, but no virtio kernel found at /usr/share/perl5/vendor_perl/Sys/VirtConvert/Converter/RedHat.pm line 1007.

  • Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization 3.3
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 and 5
  • virt-v2v
