cupsd does not create control files immediately

Issue

  • About DirtyCleanInterval in /etc/cups/cupsd.conf.
  • Control files does not get created immediately. Users must have to wait 30 second by default.
  • Adding printer via lpadmin takes a lot of time to update the printers.conf file.
  • When I'm trying to add printer via lpadmin, the printers.conf is not updated quickly with the new entry. Have to wait around 30 seconds to get reflected in printers.conf file. How can we quicken this? Also remove/modify takes time to update the printers.conf file

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6 and 7
  • Common Unix Printing System (CUPS) 1.4.2 and 1.6.3
