Why did named fail to stop at unmounting /var/named/chroot/var/named on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6?
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.0 Beta 2
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6
- bind-9.7.0-5.P2.el6.x86_64
Issue
- Named fails to stop at unmounting /var/named.
$service named stop
Stopping named: .umount: /var/named/chroot/var/named: device is busy.
(In some cases useful info about processes that use
the device is found by lsof(8) or fuser(1))
$ mount |grep named
/var/named on /var/named/chroot/var/named type none (rw,bind)
Resolution
update to version bind-9.8.2-0.10.rc1.el6 or later.
