`ls` or `du` shows space occupied on disk but filename not visible

Issue

du or ls commands show space and permissions, however, there is no filename.

# du -sh *
8.0K                                                                                     <<
0   file

# ls -lah
total 8.0K
-rw-r--r--. 1    root  root  4.3K Feb 24 15:31                          // No filename here.
drwx------. 2  root root   27     Feb 24 15:30 .
drwxr-xr-x. 4 root root   67     Jan 18 00:39 ..
-rw-r--r--. 1    root  root    0     Feb 24 15:31 file
