Can I move kdump's kernel out of the LowMem zone in 32-bit systems?

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

When I use something like crashkernel=128M@16M the amount of Low Memory accessible by my system is decreased.

I want to set up kdump on a Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5 x86 (32-bit) system, but I'd like to preserve all of the system's Low Memory. Is this possible?

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 5
  • x86 (32-bit) kernel
