Satellite 5.3: RHN API call system.ListPackages returns empty set for pre-RHEL 4.8 systems

Issue

  • several systems are displaying "not specified" as the value for the architecture in the webUI package list view, for all packages on that host (the package names themselves are displayed via the webUI)
  • via the API system.listPackages method, no data is returned for the affected hosts.

Environment

  • Red Hat Network (RHN) Satellite 5.3.x
  • Pre RHEL 4.8 systems registered to the Satellite
