Satellite 5.8 ERROR: RHN Classic Hosted is no longer supported.

Issue

  • Satellite sync failing with the below error: 
[root@sat58 pgsql]# satellite-sync 
12:30:30 Red Hat Satellite - live synchronization
12:30:30 ERROR: Live content synchronizing with RHN Classic Hosted is no longer supported.
Please use the cdn-sync command instead unless you are attempting to sync from another Satellite via Inter-Satelite-Sync (ISS), or from local content on disk via Channel Dump ISOs.
  • Why satellite 5.8 trying to sync using satellite-sync instead of cdn-sync
