Xorg server fails to open the virtual console at startup on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5
Issue
- The X server sometimes fails to open the virtual console at startup with the following error in the log:
Fatal server error: xf86OpenConsole: Cannot open virtual console 7 (Input/output error)
- The behaviour is intermittent.
