'General command validation failure' when trying to delete a snapshot from a RHV VM

Issue

  • Both Live and Cold Merge (snapshot deletion) fail immediately with General command validation failure reported in the RHV Admin Portal.

  • The following is reported in the engine logs;

2018-09-24 10:46:54,412-04 ERROR [org.ovirt.engine.core.bll.snapshots.RemoveSnapshotCommand] (default task-29) [5c81b91e-f4d0-4fda-94d4-881532c52f83] Error during ValidateFailure.: java.lang.NullPointerException
