JBoss ON recent alerts portlet or alert history view fails to display any alerts because the server is taking too long to complete the request
Issue
- Failed to fetch alerts data.
- Server returned FAILURE with no error message.
- No results found using specified criteria.

Started bringing the following error messages randomly:
Failed to fetch alerts data. This occurred because the server is taking a long time to complete this request. Please be aware that the server may still be processing your request and it may complete shortly. You can check the server logs to see if any abnormal errors occurred. -
Recent alerts portlet fails to show recent alerts.
- Alerts history page fails to show any alerts.
- Server becomes slow or unresponsive.
- Server is unstable due to an
OutOfMemoryErrorexception.
Environment
- JBoss Operations Network (JON) 3.1.2
- User has navigated to a page that contains:
- a recent alerts portlet such as the dashboard page or a resource or group summary page AND there are a total of 50,000 or more combined alerts.
- OR an alert history view such as the resource or group alert history page AND the resource or group has a total of 50,000 or more alerts.
