Error when changing coalesce settings on tg3 driver: Cannot set device coalesce parameters: Invalid argument

Issue

  • I'm able to change the rx-usecs or tx-usecs to any value between 1 to 1023 but cannot set it to 0.
    When changing the Interrupt Coalesce settings for tg3 driver the following error is encountered for both rx and tx.
ethtool -C eno1  rx-usecs 0
Cannot set device coalesce parameters: Invalid argument

ethtool -C eno1  tx-usecs 0
Cannot set device coalesce parameters: Invalid argument
