Changing the default storage pool in cinder

Issue

After creating a new cinder type and making the following change to set the default volume type in cinder.conf
default_volume_type is not being detected by the Cinder service:

- default_volume_type = OLD_DEFAULT
+ default_volume_type = NEW_DEFAULT

Environment

  • Red Hat OpenStack Platform 8
  • Red Hat OpenStack Platform 9
  • Red Hat OpenStack Platform 10
  • Red Hat OpenStack Platform 11
  • Red Hat OpenStack Platform 12
