When trying to create an LVM mirror on a striped logical volume, I receive the error "Mirrors of striped volumes are not yet supported" on Red Hat Enterprise Linux

Issue

If using striping, I can NOT mirror the lvm logical volume using lvconvert.

Environment

Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) including:
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 (RHEL4)
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 (RHEL5)
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 (RHEL6)
LVM volume group
- Striped logical volume
- Attempting to create, convert or extend a mirrored, striped logical volume.
