After increasing memory for a RHV VM, the original memory size is still seen by the guest

Issue

  • RHV VM configured to use 480 GB of RAM but inside VM only shows 240 GB.

  • After increasing the memory for a RHV VM, the original memory size is still seen by the guest when the VM is restarted.

  • The VM is pinned to a host with two NUMA nodes and is configured to use both nodes.

Environment

  • Red Hat Virtualization (RHV) 4.0.4
