Why does the second disk disappear after rebooting a Virtual Machine under Xen?

Issue

  • Running a Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 Virtual Machine under Xen with two drives configured in virtual manager. When the VM crashes or restarted, the second drive will disappear and have to be readded. Sometimes the drive will persist over reboot, other times it will not.
