Why nslookup is not able to use "/lib/libxml2.so.2" library?

Issue

  • When trying to run nslookup getting following error:

    # nslookup tribal-nonprod.db01
nslookup: /lib/libxml2.so.2: no version information available (required by /lib64/libisc.so.95)

  • The required library is already installed on the system, but still nslookup is not able to load it.

    # locate libxml2.so.2
/usr/lib/libxml2.so.2
/usr/lib64/libxml2.so.2
/usr/lib64/libxml2.so.2.9.1

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7
