"clvmd: Can't open cluster manager socket" during startup in RHEL 6

Issue

  • Rebooted a cluster node, clvmd service doesn't start and this is logged in /var/log/message:
Apr 2 13:48:25 localhost clvmd: Can't open cluster manager socket: No such file or directory
Apr 2 13:48:25 localhost kernel: DLM (built Jun 13 2012 18:26:45) installed
Apr 2 13:48:26 localhost corosync[1985]: [MAIN ] Corosync Cluster Engine ('1.4.1'): started and ready to provide service.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6 with the Resilient Storage Add On
