After upgrading winbind to samba-winbind-3.6.23-46.el6_9 we are observing a memory leak

Issue

After upgrading winbind to samba-winbind-3.6.23-46.el6_9 we are observing huge memory leak.
over several hours one of the winbindd processes consumes all memory and concurrently all the winbindd processes consume a large percent of CPU.
Customer seeing the same issue if they downgrade to the version samba-winbind-3.6.23-45.el6_9.
However downgrading to samba-winbind-3.6.23-43.el6_9 resolves the issue.

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.9
  • samba-winbind-3.6.23-46.el6_9
  • samba-winbind-3.6.23-45.el6_9
