Earlier version of RHCS (2.3 and earlier) that had Containerized services were required to follow https://access.redhat.com/articles/2789521 to upgrade the Cluster
In the later version of RHCS (3.x) it is now supported to use the rolling_update.yml playbook to run the upgrade
