Using @EJB to inject an EJB from a separate jar file results in a NullPointerException in JBoss EAP

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • When deploying an SLSB that has an injected SLSB from a different EJB JAR a "java.lang.NullPointerException" results.  Using a "mappedName" in the "@EJB" annotation works, but client does not want to use JBoss specific properties in the EJBs.

Environment

  • Red Hat JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP)
    • 5.0.1
    • 5.1.1
