nmcli commands fail with: Error: Failed to modify connection: No such method 'Update2'

Issue

  • Trying to use nmcli to modify a connection fails with the following error:

    # nmcli con mod eno1 ipv4.method disable
Error: Failed to modify connection 'eno1': No such method 'Update2'

  • The problem appears after a recent update of the NetworkManager package.
