Curl fails to transfer files to or from some FTPS servers

Issue

  • Data transfers to or from some FTPS servers fail using curl.
  • The utility terminates with error.

  • The following errors were observed:

    curl: (35) Encountered end of file

    or

    curl: (18) NSS: client certificate not found (nickname not specified)

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7
  • curl or other FTPS client with NSS SSL/TLS backend
