Update of cluster compatibility version failed because there are VMs/Templates [VM1, TEMPLATE1] with incorrect configuration

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • Cannot update Cluster Compatibility level due to a 32Bits architecture limit in RHV platform
  • The following message can be seen in Events:
Validation of action 'UpdateVm' failed for user XXXXXXXX. Reasons: VAR__ACTION__UPDATE,VAR__TYPE__VM,ACTION_TYPE_FAILED_MAX_MEMORY_CANNOT_EXCEED_PLATFORM_LIMIT,$maxMemory 32768,$platformLimit 20480
  • I have increased the value of VM32BitMaxMemorySizeInMB with engine-config and restarted the ovirt-engine service, although, the issue still remains.

Environment

  • Red Hat Virtualization 4.0
  • 32 Bits Virtual Machines with Maximum memory higher than 20Gb
