JBoss Messaging cluster needs that a shared database is available to all nodes in the cluster
Issue
Does JBoss Messaging cluster need a shared database in JBoss EAP 5? JBoss Messaging User Guide for EAP 4.3 mentions the following. However, JBoss Messaging User Guide for EAP 5 does not have such a statement. Please clarify whether a shared database is mandatory for JBoss Messaging cluster in EAP 5.
Clustering will not work with the default database.
JBoss uses HSQLDB as the default database which is not a production-ready database. For a JBoss Messaging cluster to work, all nodes must have access to a production-ready shared database. It is therefore necessary to replace the default HSQLDB database with a production-ready shared database.
