RHEV Hypervisor 6.4 is expiereincing a kernel panic when attemping to set VLAN parameter during PXE install

Issue

  • Attempting to install a RHEVH 6.4 server via PXE installation with the following boot parameter:
vlan=4
  • Before the installation can begin, the server expierences a kernel panic:
Warning: Signal caught!
Warning: FATAL vlan= requires two parameters
Warning: Refusing to continue
Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempting to kill init!
  • Using the RHEVh 6.3 installation media with the same vlan parameters does NOT produce the kernel panic

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization 3.0
  • Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization 3.1
  • RHEV Hypervisor 6.4 (6.4-20130306)
