How can I determine which package is failing my Red Hat Network Satellite rollback?

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • When using the Red Hat Network Satellite (RHNS) rollback option to revert to a previously saved snapshot, I get an error where rhn_check shows no output and no clear error.

  • rhn_check -vvv shows the detailed error:

D: Sending back response (18, 'Failed: packages requested raised
dependency problems', {'failed_deps': ((('openssl-devel', '0.9.7a',
'43.17.el4_7.2'), ('krb5-devel', ''), 0, '', 0), (('openssl-devel',
'0.9.7a', '43.17.el4_7.2'), ('krb5-devel', ''), 0, '', 0)), 'version':
'0', 'name': 'packages.runTransaction.failed_deps'})
D: do_call packages.checkNeedUpdate ('rhnsd=1',)
D: local action status:  (0, 'rpm database not modified since last update (or package list recently updated)', {})

Environment
