Attempting to start sshd fails with "error while loading shared libraries: libxxx cannot open shared object file"
Issue
- Unable to start the sshd service, it fails with errors similar to below:
# service sshd start
Starting sshd: /usr/sbin/sshd: error while loading shared libraries: /usr/lib64/libfipscheck.so.1: file too short
# service sshd start
Starting sshd: /usr/sbin/sshd: error while loading shared libraries: libcom_err.so.2: cannot open shared object file. No such file or directory
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.x
