My crontab has percent-signs (%) in it and will not run properly. Why?
Issue
- I have a cronjob that needs to use percent-signs (%) in the command. I put it in crontab but it seems that the cron job cannot run properly. Why?
- For example:
0 9 \* \* \* [ \`date '+%e'\` -le 7 ] && restart.sh
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5
