RHEV: IP address change of an iSCSI Storage Domain (target) requires modification of engine database to reflect new IP and connect it.

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • After changing IP address for iscsi target, the changed IP address is not automatically reflected in the RHEVM/RHVM database. RHEVM/RHVM will still try to connect to the old addresses and will eventually timeout, and then declare the storage_domain as inactive.

  • Host goes into Non-operational state, when the IP address of storage server is changed.

Environment

  • Red Hat Virtualization 4.x
  • Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization 3.x
  • Block-based storage domains (iSCSI)
