Issue
I’m concerned about recent articles describing flaws with microprocessors.
I’ve read about an issue that affects computer processors and the kernel. What is Red Hat doing about this?
Resolution
Red Hat Product Security is aware of reports on the Internet related to CPU (microprocessor) issue and the Linux kernel. Red Hat Product Security is investigating the potential impact to Red Hat products. More information will be forthcoming as our analysis of the issue continues.
Red Hat Engineering has been involved in the conversation around the recent upstream Linux kernel Page Table Isolation (PTI, previously known as KAISER or KPTI) effort. Red Hat is actively engaged in understanding what changes might need to be made to our kernels to appropriately react to any issue the PTI patches address.
