Yum commands accessing a local repo give [Errno 14] PYCURL ERROR 22 - "The requested URL returned error: 403 Forbidden"

Issue

  • Yum commands from a system connected to a local repository fails with errors similar to the following:
# yum install httpd
Loaded plugins: langpacks, product-id
httpd-2.4.6-67.el7_4.6.x86_64. FAILED                                          
http://example.com/repo/httpd-2.4.6-67.el7_4.6.x86_64.rpm: [Errno 14] HTTP Error 403 - Forbidden                                                                             ]  0.0 B/s |    0 B  --:--:-- ETA 
Trying other mirror.
