Live Merge failure in RHV 4.1.8

Issue

  • A Live Merge (snapshot deletion) failed.

  • The merge completed on the host on which the VM was running, but the volume removal on the SPM did not complete successfully,

  • After the VM was shutdown, it failed to start, reporting Bad volume specification.

  • One of the volumes was marked as illegal.

  • The volumes were in a file-based storage domain.

  • Red Hat Virtualization (RHV) 4.1.8
  • Red Hat Virtualization Hypervisor (RHVH) 4.1.8 - 7.4
    • vdsm-4.19.42-1.el7ev
    • libvirt-3.2.0-14.el7_4.5
