Windows 8, 2012, & 2016 Guests on 4.0 cluster may go non-responsive after updating to RHEV-Tools 4.0_7

Issue

  • Site recently updated the RHV Cluster to version 4.0 from 3.6. After updating the RHEV-Tools to the updated version the Windows Guests based are not responding well.

  • Windows components such as RDP, Control Panel is inaccessible and there appears to be severe IO wait times. Other anomalies such as high CPU spikes also exist. It was also found that access event viewer to retrieve information was unavailable, nor was the ability to reinstall or uninstall the RHEV-Tools.

  • It was also noticed that attempts to RDP, open control panel, access event viewer, uninstall RHEV-Tools have all failed continuously.
