Host showing unresponsive in RHVM portal after upgrade

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

Put host in maintenance and tried upgrading via yum update. After upgrade vdsmd service is dead and won't activate:

# systemctl status vdsmd
● vdsmd.service - Virtual Desktop Server Manager
   Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/vdsmd.service; enabled; vendor preset: enabled)
   Active: inactive (dead)
Dec 16 14:09:46 host1 systemd[1]: Dependency failed for Virtual Desktop Server Manager.
Dec 16 14:09:46 host1 systemd[1]: Job vdsmd.service/start failed with result 'dependency failed for Virtual Desktop Server Manager'

Environment

  • Red Hat Virtualization 4.1
  • vdsm upgrade from 4.19.10.1 to vdsm-4.19.42-1
