Why does preupg result block redhat-upgrade-tool procedure for Upgrading Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 to 7 on UEFI enabled systems?

- While upgrading Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.9 to 7.x (in-place upgrade), the
preupgresult show up the following error which looks HIGH IMPACT

Description
The module checks for EFI and it forbids an in-place upgrade when the EFI boot loader is present.
Logs
preupg.risk.EXTREME: The EFI boot loader was detected. An in-place upgrade is not possible.
Remediation description:
Systems using the EFI boot loader cannot be in-place upgraded now.
- Is it possible to overcome this and force upgrade the system?
