After downgraded kernel in RHEL4U8 x86_64, application (SnapManager) installation asks for 32bit pam package to be installed.

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • After downgrading RHEL4U8 kernel (kernel-2.6.9-89.EL) to kernel-2.6.9-67, installing an application gets following error message:

The server is missing file /lib/security/pam_env.so, which is required for
SnapManager on Linux. Before installation of SnapManager can proceed, you
must install a 32-bit version of PAM.

    This program will now exit.

Environment
