kdump fails to start on RHEL 6 Beta

Solution Verified - Updated -

  • kdump has been configured in kdump.conf and modifications were made in grub.conf to include crashkernel=128M@16M.
  • The system was rebooted but kdump fails to start.
  • In messages it reports:

May 13 14:25:13 host kdump: No crashkernel parameter specified for running kernel
May 13 14:25:13 host kdump: failed to start up
  • This same configuration works on RHEL 5.
