kdump fails to start on RHEL 6 Beta

Issue

  • kdump has been configured in kdump.conf and modifications were made in grub.conf to include crashkernel=128M@16M.
  • The system was rebooted but kdump fails to start.
  • In messages it reports:

    May 13 14:25:13 host kdump: No crashkernel parameter specified for running kernel
    May 13 14:25:13 host kdump: failed to start up
    
  • This same configuration works on RHEL 5.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6 Beta

  • kernel-2.6.32-19.el6.x86_64
