Updating the management user or password for a JBoss AS 7 resource in JBoss ON has no affect until the agent is restarted

Issue

  • Monitoring is broken and restarting the agent resolved the issue.
  • Monitoring is suddenly broken for JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP) 6 targets.
  • Management user no longer exists, but the availability check continues to be OK.
  • Changes to user name or password value have no affect.
  • EAP 6 connections settings username and password change has no effect until the agent is restarted

Environment

  • JBoss Operations Network (JON) 3.1.1, 3.1.2
    • JBoss Application Server (AS) 7 plug-in for JBoss ON
    • JBoss Enterprise Application Platform(EAP) 6.x management user or password have changed
    • JBoss AS resource's connection setting's User or Password have been updated
    • JBoss AS 7 plug-in continues to use the original values for user or password
