lpfcdfc module not loading at boot on RHEL 4 U4

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterplise Linux (RHEL) 4 U4

Issue

  • lpfcdfc module not loading at boot time

Resolution

  • Add "modprobe lpfdfc" to rc.local so the module will be loaded on boot.

Root Cause

  • According to the RHEL4 U4 release notes the lpfcdfc module will not automatically load, and needs to be manually loaded.

  • Fixed modprobe.conf and rebuilt initrd, module still would not load on boot.
