Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • After updating to gnome-vfs2-2.16.2-10.el5 in RHEL5.9, general users can not use "Trash", it means that the user try to remove the file by drag and drop or right click menu, after that, the file is disappeared but "Trash" folder does not contain the file.
  • User opens a terminal, executes 'ls ~/.Trash' and they confirmed the file in ".Trash" directory.

Environment

  • General user's home directory on separated partition, like /dev/sda3 /home.
  • general user (not root user)
  • gnome-vfs2-2.16.2-10.el5 and related gnome-vfs2* packages.
