virsh shutdown does not shutdown a kvm guest

Solution Verified - Updated -

Executing "virsh sutdown <guestid>" command does not have any effect. The guest system will keep running.

Guest system has below configuration.

<domain type='kvm' id='19'>
    <type arch='x86_64' machine='pc'>hvm</type>
    <boot dev='hd'/>
  <clock offset='utc'/>
    <disk type='file' device='disk'>
      <source file='/apps/kvm/guestname.img'/>
      <target dev='hda' bus='ide'/>
    <disk type='file' device='cdrom'>
      <target dev='hdc' bus='ide'/>
    <interface type='bridge'>

      <source bridge='br0'/>
      <target dev='vnet0'/>
    <interface type='bridge'>
      <mac address='54:52:00:62:c7:37'/>
      <source bridge='br2'/>
      <target dev='vnet1'/>
    <interface type='bridge'>
      <mac address='54:52:00:5c:41:60'/>

    <serial type='pty'>
      <source path='/dev/pts/2'/>
      <target port='0'/>
    <console type='pty' tty='/dev/pts/2'>
