Supporting ElasticSearch for external access.

With 3.6 ElasticSearch can be exposed so that cluster logging (from pods) can be accessed externally (or internally by pods), however OpenShift Container Platform Tested Integrations states:
The images are not supported as general purpose application images.- This is confusing because if I can read data from the loggings stack I should be able to post data to it (for use with my application).
