    make: [passwd.byname] Error 1 (ignored)

    YPBINDPROC_DOMAIN: Domain not bound 
    Could not read ypservers map: 3 Can't bind to server which serves this domain 
    YPPUSH: Cannot open /var/yp/example.com/passwd.byuid 
    make: [passwd.byuid] Error 1 (ignored) 
    [root@nismaster yp]#  
  • Unable to update NIS map individually:
[root@nismaster ~]# make -C /var/yp/example.com/ 
make: Entering directory `/var/yp/example.com'
make: *** No targets specified and no makefile found.  Stop.
make: Leaving directory `/var/yp/example.com'

[root@nismaster ~]# cd /var/yp/example.com/ 
[root@nismaster example.com]# make passwd
make: *** No rule to make target `passwd'.  Stop.
