  • Having problems starting some of the databases mounted on the GFS2 file system due to the control files being in-use:

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server 5 (with the High Availability and Resilient Storage Add Ons)
  • 2 or more nodes in Red Hat High Availability Cluster
  • Oracle Database managed by Red Hat High Availability cluster
    • Observed on orainstance.sh resource script, but it is currently unknown if oracledb.sh resource script is also affected.
    • The Oracle database control file is located on a GFS2 filesystem.
