db2bak.pl -a option not working the way expected

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • On RHEL7, the perl script db2bak.pl when using with the -a option stores the backup in its default location (/var/lib/dirsrv/<instance>/bak) and creates a symlink (/path/to/backupdir/symlink -> /var/lib/dirsrv/<instance>/bak) which points to the default location. In our opinion this contradicts the idea of having a -a option in the first place, since its intend is to change the destination path for the backup.
