Bonding mode 4/802.3ad does not negotiate the same aggregator ID for all slave devices on RHEL5.4 or newer.
Issue
- The ethernet bonding driver operating in mode 4 (also known as 802.3ad or LACP mode) does not negotiate Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP) properly
- Half of the interfaces enslaved to the bond device show a different LACP Aggregator ID value in the output of /proc/net/bonding/<bond device name> than the other half
- The bond device does not properly aggregate the link across all enslaved interfaces
Environment
-
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 Update 4 (RHEL5.4)
-
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 Update 5 (RHEL5.5)
- kernel 2.6.18-164 or newer
-
